In a scene straight out of the wild west, eight bulls broke free from a rodeo at the Emerald Square Mall earlier today, sparking a chaotic manhunt across town. Fire Chief Christopher Coleman reported that the North Attleboro Fire Department responded to the incident at around 12:30 p.m. when firefighters working detail at the event witnessed the massive beasts make their daring escape.
The bulls managed to break through their pens, sprint across the mall parking lot, and even leap over a fence surrounding the rodeo. Witnesses say they bolted south, heading toward the woods behind BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, creating mayhem in their wake.
While one bull was quickly captured, the remaining seven proved to be much harder to track. North Attleboro Fire and Police, with help from the Massachusetts Environmental Police, members of the New England Rodeo in Norton, and staff from the rodeo at the mall, launched a full-scale search effort.
After hours of tension, six bulls were finally found around 4:30 p.m., stuck behind a fence at a home on Prescott Street in Attleboro. Firefighters, police, and rodeo members were able to safely corral the bulls into a trailer without further incident.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the one-day rodeo event at the mall is now under investigation.
However, the drama isn’t over yet — one bull remains on the loose, with authorities urging the public to exercise extreme caution. “If you see the bull, do not approach it,” officials warned. “Call 9-1-1 immediately.”
This rodeo adventure has North Attleboro on high alert, with the search continuing for the last missing bull.
