A New Young Professionals Social Tennis League Is Coming To Newport

USTA New England is starting the Jack’s Abby Social Tennis League on Thursday, May 19th at the Pop Flack – Aquidneck Park courts.

Dates and Times

The league is 7 weeks long. The league plays every Thursday night from May 19 – June 30 from 6:30 to 9 pm. The first week (May 19) will be a fun hit around/jamboree. This night is open to anyone so bring your friends to join! They will then finalize teams after the first week and you will play matches against another team for the next 5 weeks of the season. The last week of the season will either be a rain date or a feed-in tournament format.

Teams

Teams are co-ed and must have at least 6 players. Each team will have at least one designated captain who will be in charge of determining the lineup for matches each week and passing along important information to their teammates.

Format

The league will be doubles play with three one-hour long matches per team match. The team captain(s) will be in charge of determining this line-up each week based on a combination of schedule and availability.

 

Price

$75- Goes towards:

– 7 weeks of tennis

– A New Balance Performance Long-Sleeve Team T-Shirt

– Special deals at the bar after each match

– An end-of-season party with food, drinks and raffles

– Prizes for the winning team in each division

There is also a $10 discount for every new player you refer to the league. Individual signups welcome, but if you’d like to sign up as a team or with another player, please email schultz@newengland.usta.com.

This is the only social tennis league in New England and it’s a great opportunity for local young professionals ages 21-40 to socialize, meet new friends and improve their game.
