adidas Donates Equipment and Time to the Newport County YMCA

On Thursday, September 14th, employees from adidas came down to the Newport County YMCA to donate sports equipment and their time training Y staff. The relationship came from Steven Noble, whose son Ewan, was introduced to the Y through volunteering. On the 14th a group of adidas employees had a meeting in Newport and as part of their day, they wanted to organize a community give back event.

“At adidas, our core belief is that through sport we have the power to change lives. Collaborating with the YMCA for this social purpose event provided an opportunity for us to live and breathe that belief. After the positive experience, my son had volunteering with the Y, we knew they would be the perfect organization to partner with,” Steven Noble, Sales Director-East, adidas.

The schedule for the day included training sessions in soccer, basketball and leadership, a soccer scrimmage with Y staff and adidas staff, fun on the Y’s Outdoor Adventure Center and more! adidas gifted the Y sporting equipment such as soccer balls, cones and youth kits.

“The Newport County YMCA was touched adidas chose us as their charity of choice in Newport County. The equipment they gift the Y as well as the training experience will go far ensuring the Y reach our mission of healthy well-being, social responsibility and youth development,” Mike Miller, CEO, Newport County YMCA
