Brett Dennen is returning to the Newport Folk Festival! The Northern California native, whose lyrics combine the earnest sentiments of activist folk with briskly sweet-natured pop, made his first Newport Folk appearance in 2009 and has been steadily taking the music industry by storm.
As a child, Dennen was homeschooled, where he was given creative free rein by his parents and spent much of his time learning to play music. After becoming proficient in the guitar, he started to write his own songs. His fifth studio album, Smoke and Mirrors, was released in October 2013.
Dennen will play the sold-out Newport Folk Festival on Friday, July 22nd.
