Coast Guard Station Castle Hill advances dog to Chief Petty Officer

Newport RI Coast Guard Dog Ida

The Coast Guard Station Castle Hill here in Newport held a change of command ceremony on Friday where Chief Warrant Officer John Roberts was relieved by Chief Warrant Officer Stephen Engle.

Oh, they also advanced their mascot, a dog named Ida, to Chief Petty Officer. Ida has been stationed at Castle Hill and is named after Ida Lewis, the famous lighthouse keeper.

Good dog, Ida!!!
