Financing higher education: Newport Public Library to host financial aid workshop

The Newport Public Library will be hosting a financial aid workshop on Thursday, October 8th from 6:00-7:00pm with Bill Bianchi of the RI Student Loan Authority.

Mr. Bianchi will guide participants through an overview of debt management and various options for federal financial aid, scholarships, grants and work study programs.

This program is open to students and parents. No registration is required.

Bill will return on October 29th from 6:00-7:00pm for a more in depth look at strategies and tactics to win scholarship dollars with his talk on Free Money for Higher Education.

Providing affordable higher education solutions since 1981,the Rhode Island Student Loan Authority is a non-profit quasi-state authority offering low cost state-based education loans, free admissions and financial aid assistance through the College Planning Center of Rhode Island, a free internship finder through bRIdge.jobs and financial literacy guidance at high schools and colleges throughout the State of Rhode Island.
