Fireworks planned for June 28th in celebration of Newport Pell Bridge 50th Anniversary

Alright it looks like we’re going to get an early July 4th, July 13th, July 2nd Fireworks preview. The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority will be hosting a 50th Anniversary celebration of the completion of the Newport Pell Bridge on Friday, June 28th.

The celebration will include a fireworks display from Fort Adams, food trucks, refreshments, music from “Take it to the Bridge, lawn activities for the family, and a build-a-bridge workshop. There will also be exhibits of the bridge’s history and engineering.

Prime viewing locations are on Newport Harbor, Fort Adams, King Park, all along the waterfront, The Deck, Dockside/On the Docks, Gurney’s Newport Resort & Marina & Sky Bar at the Clarke Cook House.
