Hayes Carll, the Woodlands, TX based Grammy nominated singer/songwriter known for his plain spoken poetry and sarcastic humor has been added to the lineup of the legendary Newport Folk Festival.
Since 2002, Carll has made his living touring the honky tonks and listening rooms of Texas and beyond, releasing four studio albums along the way. With the exception of a few major press blips, though, Carll has largely flown under the radar as a “songwriter’s songwriter,” the kind of artist musicians love, even if he doesn’t get his due in the mainstream.
Carll will makes his debut at the sold-out folk festival on Sunday, July 24th.
