Innovate Newport Business Incubator is Nearing Completion

If you’ve driven down Broadway in the last few weeks, you’ve probably noticed an uptick in activity around the former Sheffield School. That’s because crews are entering the home stretch in converting the building into a high-tech business incubator and co-working space called Innovate Newport.

Currently scheduled for an official opening early in the New Year, Innovate Newport promises to be a focal point in the City’s effort to spur economic development, foster collaboration, and build a 21st Century workforce.  The project, which is a joint effort between The City of Newport, The Newport County Chamber of Commerce, and The Economic Development Foundation of Rhode Island, was first announced in 2014, but it wasn’t until a groundbreaking ceremony in April of 2018 that the City’s vision began to come into focus.

Now, with membership options ranging from daily or weekly access and several key tenants and partners already in place, this long-time former school building is once again brimming with possibilities.

If you’d like more information on rates, available space for lease, or membership options, email Tuni Schartner at Director@InnovateNewport.org.
