The Newport Police on Thursday notified the public that Sami-Joe Michael Daou, 32, a Level 3 Registered Sex Offender, is living at 206 Goddard Row in Brick Market Place in downtown Newport, RI.
Mr. Daou’s victims were a 12-year-old female and a 17-year-old female. Daou pleaded guilty on November 3, 2016, to one count of possession of visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexual explicit conduct and one count of distribution of visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexual explicit conduct.
According to information presented to the court, in March 2015, the defendant stored on his computer sexually explicit images involving a pre-teenage female, some of which he shared on Facebook. Additionally, in July 2015, the defendant stored on his computer sexually explicit video files depicting sexual contact he had with a 17-year-old female.
Level 3 sex offenders: Have a high risk of re-offending. Pose a high degree of danger to the public.
