Melissa Castle Formally Indicted For The Murder Of Rachael Kilroy

A Middletown woman was indicted Tuesday for murdering her girlfriend after a late night fight in the Oxbow Farms neighborhood in August.

Last August, Middletown police arrested Melissa Sue Anne Castle, 33, after finding Rachael Kilroy, 34, of Middletown, on the 2nd floor of her apartment dead from strangulation. Castle reportedly told authorities she had been in an argument with Kilroy which led to a violent encounter.

Police took Castle into custody and where she was then arranged in Newport District Court on a charge of domestic murder. Castle was held without bail at the ACI in Cranston.

She remains held without bail, pending an formal arraignment in Superior Court on December 10th.
