The Kiwanis Club of Newport is honoring the Rogers High School Class of 2020 and asking all other Aquidneck Island civic service volunteer clubs to do the same for their respective schools.
“We know kids need Kiwanis, in Rhode Island, and around the world,” said P. Hakan Durudogan, DDS, President, Kiwanis Club of Newport. “That’s why our club mailed each 2020 Rogers High School Graduate a $25 dollar Amazon gift card to reward them for their hard work. We also want to encourage the graduates to volunteer for worthy public service projects or groups such as Kiwanis.”
“This year, graduating seniors were not able to enjoy the pomp and circumstance that traditionally comes with such a milestone achievement. This gift was our way of saying job well done!” said Hakan.
The Kiwanis Club encourages other Aquidneck Island civic clubs to match this effort, and to help spread the word about giving back to our community.
