Newport Police are searching for Christopher Rodriguez, 22, and Joshua Melendez Torres, 20 in connection with a shooting Friday night at the Festival Field Apartments on Girard Avenue in the city’s North End.
Rodriguez and Torres are both wanted on charges of assault with intent to commit a felony, murder and conspiracy, and assault to commit a felony murder.
On Friday night at 5:30pm, Newport police were called for a shooting outside Building 6 at Festival Field where they learned that a 25-year-old male had been shot in the chest with a shotgun. The victim had driven himself to Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River for treatment of gunshot wounds that were not considered life-threatening
