A nineteen-year-old Portsmouth bicyclist suffered “traumatic injuries” after being struck by a vehicle on East Main Road Wednesday morning just after midnight.
Portsmouth firefighters found the man in the street at 12:20am after responding to a 911 call. Although the severity on the man’s injuries is unclear they do appear to be significant, they said in a statement.
The man, who has not been identified, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital’s Trauma Center.
Firefighters reported heavy fog and poor visibility at the time of the accident. During transport to Rhode Island Hospital, the ambulance crew reported zero visibility during portions of the trip to Providence.
