Ray LaMontagne Is The First Artist Announced For The 2016 Newport Folk Festival

Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Ray LaMontagne is the first artist announced for 2016 Newport Folk Festival. He is scheduled to play Friday, July 22nd.

LaMontagne has released 5 studio albums and sold out numerous tours across the US. His 2010 album “God Willin’ & the Creek Don’t Rise” won the Grammy for Best Folk Album and was nominated in the coveted Song of The Year category for “Beg Steal or Borrow.”

His last single, “Supernova” off the album of the same name became one of Ray’s fastest growing singles at AAA radio, with the song rocketing into the top 5 within two weeks.

LaMontagne, who won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 2011 for “God Willin’ and the Creek Don’t Rise.”

His new album, entitled “Ouroboros,” was produced by LaMontagne  with Jim James of My Morning Jacket. The album drops March 4.
