A West Warwick man died Sunday after contracting Eastern Equine Encephalitis according the the RI Department of Health.
The Department announced the man in his 50s had contracted EEE on August 30th.
This is the first EEE death in Rhode Island since 2007.
The man’s identity has not been released.
