The Rhode Island State Senate just passed a bill (26-6) to require Rhode Islanders to prune their shrubbery and trees or face a $500 fine if the leaves land on someone else’s property.
26 -6 senate approves shrubbery bill. No debate.

Wait, what??? This isn’t a joke. The Rhode Island State Senate just essentially criminalized the entire Autumn season.
This brilliant piece of legislation (read: government overreach & revenue grab) was sponsored by Senator Frank Ciccione.
Coming soon, a RI shrubbery czar. $135k a year, w/benefits. 😉 #VoiceofNO @wpro https://t.co/g2ILqfeGwe

What a bunch of clowns we have up at the State House! Here’s how everyone voted.
Criminalizing shrubbery. {smh}
No word on whether or not citizens will be required to prune their trees using only a herring!
