Christopher W. Kelly, 56, passed away peacefully on hospice at Newport Hospital on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Chris was born in Newport, Rhode Island, May 23, 1961. He was the youngest son of the late John and Theresa (McCarthy) Kelly of Newport, RI.
Chris is survived by his daughter, Elise of Newport, his brother, Tim and wife Margaret of Newport, his sister Ann and husband Kevin Kirwin of Andover, MA.
He also leaves behind his niece, Dana and nephew, Logan. Chris was predeceased by his daughter, Brigid and his brother, Jack.
Chris was a graduate of Rogers High School, Class of 1979. He was a member of the Marine Corps Reserve and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Additionally, Chris was the proprietor of Kelly Plastering. He plied his craft to perfection from mansions to condos.
Chris enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He was an avid golfer. Chris will be greatly missed!
Visiting hours will be held Friday, June 30, 2017 4-7 pm at the O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring St., Newport, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 1, 2017 at St. Augustin’s Church, corner of Carroll Ave and Harrison Ave, Newport, RI at 10 am.
