RIP Tad Sanchez

Edward “Tad” O. Sanchez, III, 48, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Newport, RI passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2016 after a courageous, year-long fight against cancer. He was the husband of Colleen Elizabeth Dolan, to whom he was married to for 14 years and the son of the late Gail Fuller Sanchez and Edward O. Sanchez Jr.

Besides his wife Colleen, Edward is survived by his sister Melissa Sanchez O’Reilly, her husband Edward O’Reilly and his nephew Aidan of Block Island, RI. He is also survived by his grandmother Helen Sanchez of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Additional survivors are aunt Lynn Paquin of Fort Lauderdale, FL and aunt Arlene Fuller Cloutier of Westport, MA and their children.

Born in New Bedford, MA and raised in Dartmouth, MA, Edward graduated from Tabor Academy of Marion, MA and Northeastern University of Boston, MA.

He was the Manager of Buzzards Bay Realty in New Bedford, MA and a professional international sailor.

His life always brought him back to Block Island, RI where he spent summers as a youth and visited every chance he could with family and friends.

Tad was an amazing artist who loved to paint, with a particular fondness for boats and historic buildings. He also loved to witness film production and was an extra in many popular movies.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of St. Gregory the Great at Portsmouth Abbey School in Portsmouth, on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 1 p.m. There will be an open house at the home of Tad and Colleen on 11 Byrnes Street in Newport from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
