Ruby Amanfu added to the 2016 Newport Folk Festival lineup

Ruby Amanfu, the Ghanaian-born singer and songwriter based out of Nashville, TN has been added to the Saturday lineup at the 2016 Newport Folk Festival.

Amanfu fresh off the release of her latest solo album, Standing Still, joins Father John Misty, Nathaniel Ratliff and the Nightsweats, Flight of the Conchords, Ray LaMontagne, Villagers, The Oh Hellos, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Rory and Joan Shelley was the other announced artists at this legendary three-day festival slated to take place at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, RI.


Amanfu is known for her collaborations with Jack White in his all-female band, The Peacocks. She is also well known for being one half of the duo Sam & Ruby, whose album was named Associated Press Album of the Year in 2009.
