Suspect In January Assault That Left Newport Man In Coma Turns Himself In

Freddie Hicks, the suspect in the January assault that left Kyle Kettner in a coma, has turned himself in to Newport Police is due to be arraigned in Newport County District Court later Thursday.

Mr. Hicks allegedly attacked Kyle Kettner as he walked with his girlfriend friend on Bliss Road in the early morning hours of January 18th.

Kyle Kettner hit his head on the concrete during the assault and was in a medically induced coma at Rhode Island Hospital.
