The Newport Skating Center Will Return To The Newport Yachting Center Next Winter

After a very successful return this past winter, Newport Waterfront Events announced today that the Newport Skating Center will continue operations of the rink at the Newport Yachting Center during the 2016-2017 Winter season.

“The Newport Skating Center’s comeback was everything we hoped it would be! It was one of our most successful skating seasons in ten years and we thank all of our supporters, from the City of Newport to our corporate sponsors and community partners and, of course, our skating guests,” said Michele Maker Palmieri, President and CEO of Waterfront Productions, the parent company of Newport Waterfront Events. “We are thrilled that the Peregrine Group has been generous enough to let us create our winter wonderland once again throughout the 2016-17 skating season in downtown Newport.

Our community outreach programs, especially our fundraising drives and free skate and discount programs, touched a lot of lives this past winter while exposing people to the rink who normally wouldn’t have that opportunity. We look forward to bringing family, friends and the community together again next winter at the Newport Skating Center.”
