Businessman Donald Trump and Senator Bernie Sanders both had big nights in the Ocean State dispatching Lyin Ted Cruz and Crooked Hillary Clinton respectively.
Trump dominated statewide winning 64.6% of the vote, only losing Barrington to Governor John Kasich 47% to 46%. Senator Sanders shocked political onlookers by defeating Clinton and the Rhode Island Democrat machine with a solid 55.5% of the vote to Hillary’s 42.8%.
Clinton’s loss in Rhode Island deals a major blow to the political stock and national ambitions of Governor Gina Raimondo who couldn’t deliver the state to Hillary.
Trump also won primaries in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania to complete the sweep. Senator Sanders didn’t fare was well as Crooked Hillary won Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Governor Kasich won 23% of the vote and Lyin’ Ted limped into a distant third place with a dismal 10% of the vote.
