- 10:00am – 5:00pm – Fort Adams Navy Day featuring U.S. Navy Leapfrogs jumping at 2 p.m. There will be a beer garden from 12:00pm-4:30pm, the Leapfrogs, sailors from the US Constitution and an exhibit that includes a gun deck.
- 11:00am – VFW Conover-Leary Post #406 ceremony, Storer Park, Newport Harbor.
- 12:00pm – Veterans’ Association Ceremony in front of Newport City Hall with the Newport Artillery Company, Newport County veterans organizations, the Rogers High School Army Junior ROTC, and city and state officials. Col. William Babcock is the guest speaker.
- 1:00pm to 3:00pm – Miantonomi Park Tower is open in observance of Memorial Day. Built in 1929 as a memorial to World War I veterans, the 100′ stone tower has interior stone steps that lead to a narrow metal staircase that ascends to the top observation deck from which views of Providence and Block Island are common on clear days. All are welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult.
