Roger’s High School Teacher of the Year, Steven Kalble was arrested Monday by Newport Police on a charge of Second Degree Sexual Assault.
According to the police report, Kalble sent inappropriate messages to a 16 yr-old female student back in March with one message saying “I love you”, which Kalble maintains was taken out of context.
Kalble, 66, did not enter a plea at arraignment and has been released on a $50,000 bail, he is due back in court on July 25th.
Kalble has been placed on administrative leave according to Newport School Superintendent Colleen Burns Jermain.
