Elizabeth Ann Nass, 72, a lifelong resident of Aquidneck Island, passed away peacefully in her Portsmouth, RI home in presence of family.
Born in Newport, RI on November 26, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. Nass and the late Barbara (Whitford) Nass. She leaves her beloved son, James R. Nass of Portsmouth, RI.
Elizabeth is also survived by her brother Robert W. Nass Jr. of Middletown RI, her sister Susan (Nass) Calhoun and brother-in-law Scott Calhoun of Waco, TX.
Elizabeth was the granddaughter of the late James and Eleanor Whitford and the late Rudolph and Anna Nass, all of Newport, RI.
Elizabeth grew up in Newport, attending St. Mary’s School and graduating from St. Catherine’s Academy. She received her BA from Humbolt State University, CA. Beth’s earlier hobbies included sailing, assisting with J boat racing, and America’s Cup preparation activities. At this time, she worked for Newport Offshore. Hobbies included weaving on her loom, all needle craft, and gardening. Her later career included Project Manager roles for defense contracting companies.
A private burial and remembrance will take place for the family.
