Governor’s Efficiency Commission calls for public input

Governor Raimondo’s Efficiency Commission – in conjunction with the Department of Administration (DOA) – is inviting the public to submit ideas to make government more efficient.

On February 21 of this year, Governor Raimondo issued Executive Order 19-04 establishing a Commission on Government Efficiency.  The Commission is charged with developing efficiency recommendations that further the following goals:

  • Re-organization and consolidation of agencies, divisions, and programs within and across state government; and
  • Making more efficient and effective use of the State’s real estate, leases, assets and resources.

The Governor’s proposed budget also includes $10 million of savings associated with the good government initiative.

In advance of the Commission’s meeting next week, an electronic form has been created to make public input quick and easy. If you are a member of the public and you want to submit ideas, please click here to access the online submission form.

The Commission encourages people to submit public comment prior to noon on Monday, March 18. The next meeting of the Commission will be held that day from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Conference Room 2A, Department of Administration, One Capitol Hill, Providence.

DOA staff will be tasked with conducting follow-up analysis related to individual suggestions as appropriate.
