❄️🌊 A brave and spirited crowd gathered on ❄️🌊 A brave and spirited crowd gathered on New Year’s Day at Easton’s Beach in Newport for @awishcometrueinc’s 21st Annual Polar Plunge, diving into the icy Atlantic to support a heartwarming cause. Despite the chill, thousands of participants came together for “Freezin’ for a Reason,” raising over $73,000 for A Wish Come True, an organization dedicated to granting wishes for children battling life-threatening illnesses. This year’s plunge celebrated two remarkable “Wish Kids,” Lars and Indy, who will soon embark on magical trips to Florida, thanks to the generosity of the community. ✨ A special thank you goes to the RI Laborers District Council/LIUNA, the Presenting Sponsor, along with local businesses and donors who played a crucial role in making this event a success. Their support ensures that A Wish Come True can continue granting wishes and offering hope to families in need. The @bostoncalling Music Festival is gearing up fo The @bostoncalling Music Festival is gearing up for its 2025 return with a powerhouse lineup. Country star @lukecombs, pop-punk favorites @falloutboy, and iconic jam band @davematthewsband will headline the three-day event, set for May 23-25 at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Boston, Massachusetts. 
Each headliner will top off a day filled with performances from more than 50 artists across multiple genres. On Friday, May 23, Luke Combs takes center stage after a day featuring Megan Moroney, Sheryl Crow, T-Pain, TLC, and other standout acts. Saturday, May 24, brings Fall Out Boy to the main stage, with Avril Lavigne, Cage The Elephant, The Black Crowes, and All Time Low rounding out the day. Dave Matthews Band will close out the festival on Sunday, May 25, with support from Vampire Weekend, Sublime, Public Enemy, Remi Wolf, and Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello. 
Boston Calling organizers have announced significant changes to improve the attendee experience. The Red and Green stages will merge into a single rotating stage, creating a more seamless flow between performances. Additional water stations, enhanced crowd movement, and a climate-controlled indoor arena will help attendees stay comfortable throughout the weekend. 
Tickets for Boston Calling 2025 go on sale Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. Festival passes range from General Admission to VIP and Platinum packages, ensuring options for every type of fan. The Patriots are cleaning house—and fast. First- The Patriots are cleaning house—and fast. First-year head coach Jerod Mayo is out after a single season, the team announced Sunday night. Patriots owner Robert Kraft wasted no time, issuing a statement just after the Pats’ 23-16 win over the Bills—a victory that cost them the1st pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The win was the final nail in the coffin for Mayo. In a game many expected New England to tank, the Patriots somehow clawed their way to an unnecessary W, falling to the No. 4 draft slot. Statement from Robert Kraft: “After the game today, I informed Jerod Mayo that he will not be returning as the head coach of the New England Patriots in 2025. For me, personally, this was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made. I have known Jerod for 17 years. He earned my respect and admiration as a rookie in 2008 and throughout his career for his play on the field, his leadership in the locker room and the way he conducted himself in our community. When he joined our coaching staff, his leadership was even more evident, as I saw how the players responded to him. When other teams started requesting to interview him, I feared I would lose him and committed to making him our next head coach. Winning our season-opener on the road at Cincinnati only strengthened my convictions. Unfortunately, the trajectory of our team’s performances throughout the season did not ascend as I had hoped.” “Since buying the team, I have always considered myself and my family as custodians of a public asset. We have tremendous fans who expect and deserve a better product than we have delivered in recent years. I apologize for that. With a golden opportunity to secure the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft — and potentially turn around their miserable fortunes — all they had to do was lose. A simple loss to Buffalo’s backups, and the Patriots could’ve been sitting pretty with the top pick. Instead, they decided to play hero ball and won 23-16. Congratulations, New England, you just tanked your shot at the future. Meanwhile, the Tennessee Titans did what smart teams do in a tank-worthy season: They rolled over with a respectable 23-14 loss to the Houston Texans, locking up the top spot. But the Patriots? Nah, Jerod Mayo and company had to go out swinging for reasons no one can quite understand. Now, instead of dreaming about the next generational quarterback or franchise-altering superstar, the Pats are stuck at pick No. 4. Maybe Mayo already knows he’s packing up his office at season’s end and just wanted to stick it to ownership. Honestly, that’s the most plausible explanation for this comedy of errors.
