RIP Edward Geoghegan

Edward F. Geoghegan, age 46, of West Kingston, formerly of Newport RI passed away suddenly Friday, May 19, 2017.

Edward was born January 18, 1971, the son of Lorena (Fenerty) and the late Edward M. Geoghegan. Loving son in law to the late Michael F. Muzzy Sr. and Barbara G. Muzzy (O’Brien).

He was happily married to Deborah A. Geoghegan (Muzzy) since May 26th, 2004. The two met at National Grid, and from the moment of their first meeting they began a romance built upon a foundation of friendship, trust, respect and love. Within a year the two married and their world’s revolved around one another ever-since.

Edward graduated from Rogers High School in 1989. He spent 27 years working for National Grid. He was a member of the Bradford Sportsmen’s Club. His greatest passions lied in spending time with his family, helping others, fly-fishing, traveling, and running road races; Although, more than anything he enjoyed spending his time with his loving wife Deborah.

Besides his wife, Deborah, and his mother Lorena, he is survived by his twin brother, Eric Geoghegan and his wife Kimberly of Tiverton, RI, his sister, Jerelyn Geoghegan of Tiverton, RI his sister Jennifer Abaid of Boston, MA, his brother in law, Michael Muzzy Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Warwick, RI, his sister in law, Dorothy Muzzy of Coventry, RI, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 4-8 pm, at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.

His funeral will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 9:00am, at St. Lucy’s Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, RI.
