The Preservation Society of Newport County will ho The Preservation Society of Newport County will host a lineup of premier events in 2025. These signature gatherings celebrate art, history, culture, and the scenic beauty of Newport, making them highlights of the city’s social calendar. Here’s a look at the major events coming to the @newport.mansions in 2025: The Newport ‘Piccolo Simposio’: Italian Influence in Newport April 3 | Rosecliff A daylong event exploring Italian artistic and architectural legacies in Newport, featuring expert talks and mansion tours. Reception follows at 5:30 p.m. The Newport Flower Show: “A Floral Fair” June 20-22 | Rosecliff The 29th annual show features vibrant floral displays, botanical arts, and a garden marketplace. Tickets on sale April 1 for members, April 4 for the public. A Weekend of Coaching August 15-17 | Various locations Every three years, 19th-century coaches and teams of horses parade through Newport, culminating in a public exhibition at The Elms on August 16 and a Coaching Dinner Dance at The Breakers. The Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival September 19-21 | Rosecliff The 20th annual festival includes wine tastings, gourmet dining, and special events. Tickets available in July. Holidays at the Newport Mansions November 22 - January 1, 2026 Gilded Age mansions will be adorned with festive décor, including a 15-foot poinsettia tree at The Breakers. Despite increased demand, gas prices dipped lower Despite increased demand, gas prices dipped lower this week, with today’s national average at $3.07 per gallon, about 3 cents lower than a week ago. This drop at the pump comes as many travelers gear up to hit the road for spring break and drivers may be surprised to find gas under $3 in 31 states. The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station remains the same at 34 cents. According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand increased from 8.87 million b/d last week to 9.18. Total domestic gasoline supply decreased from 246.8 million barrels to 241.1, leaving them slightly below seasonal averages. Gasoline production also decreased last week, averaging 9.6 million barrels per day. Today’s national average for a gallon of gas is $3.07, about 8 cents lower than a month ago and 31 cents less than a year ago. #gasprices #newportbuzz #palmbeachbuzz
While revelers of every nationality love to play I While revelers of every nationality love to play Irish for the day, the Newport St. Patrick’s Day Parade separates the men from the McBoys. Listen up, Chad. Your green sweater won’t fool anyone if the road’s rising up to meet your face by noon. Don’t be that guy! Like your mom said, “Eat something.” And keep noshing all day. With all those Irish whiskeys and countless kegs of Guinness on tap, you’re gonna need to pad your gut. @tavernonbroadway is a great way to kick it off, with breakfast sandwiches, pizzas, and lunch and dinner specials all day. You’re gonna need an order of Reuben Egg Rolls midday. You can’t beat @maltonbroadway for a hearty Irish breakfast starting at 9 a.m., followed by Reubens, corned beef sandwiches, and dinners. Similarly, @buskersirishpub is the place for a morning feast of eggs and rashers, and après-parade potato skins topped with corned beef. On Cinco de Mayo, everyone’s Mexican, so @diegosnewport knows what you need to outlast the onslaught, starting at 8 a.m. with brunch options like corned beef hash and eggs with potatoes, peppers, and onions. Special menu items for the day include corned beef tacos and Dublin nachos. @cornercafenewport serves up its famous corned beef hash on parade day. Get there early. Or fuel up @thequencher’s all-you-can-eat Irish brunch from 10 a.m. to noon. Later: Shepherd’s Pie Empanadas and Patty’s Pizza. Feeling a little green from the scent of boiled cabbage and Jameson? No law says you can’t zip up to @nikolaspizza for a coupla slices and a Pepsi—always a go-to for mid- or post-party padding. Back downtown, grab corned beef sandwiches, dinners, burgers, stuffies, tenders, nachos, and more at @speakeasy_barandgrill, or hit @wharffishhouse for corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss-stuffed dumplings or parade day fried rice. Next door, @wharfsouthernkitchen crushes it with Irish tater tots topped with corned beef, Swiss, and pickled cabbage, along with complete corned beef and cabbage dinners.
