Providence Performing Arts Center Announces Star-Studded 2026–27 Lineup

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Providence Performing Arts Center unveiled its 2026–2027 Broadway season on Tuesday, spotlighting a major milestone: the national tour launch of Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical, the 25th tour to premiere at the historic theater.

The season opens Sept. 20–26, 2026, with Operation Mincemeat, followed by a lineup of high-profile productions in the Taco and The White Family Foundation Broadway Series. Titles include The Great Gatsby (Nov. 3–8), Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen (Dec. 15–20), Death Becomes Her (Jan. 26–31, 2027), The Notebook (Feb. 9–14) and Maybe Happy Ending (Feb. 23–28).

Newly appointed PPAC President and CEO Alan J. Chille said the season blends award-winning storytelling with visually striking productions and crowd-pleasing favorites.

The Encore Series returns with The Bodyguard (Oct. 23–25, 2026), alongside the venue’s first-ever appearance by Cirque du Soleil with ’Twas the Night Before… running Nov. 24–Dec. 6. Additional Encore titles include A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical (March 9–14, 2027) and Jersey Boys (May 11–16, 2027).

Holiday programming continues with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, led by conductor Keith Lockhart, returning for a Dec. 13 concert.

Leaders also highlighted PPAC’s community impact, including a $1 million annual investment in outreach programs that connect more than 40,000 people to live theater. The venue will also host a sensory-friendly performance of Ocean Blue on April 3, 2027.

With blockbuster titles, a major tour debut and expanded programming, PPAC officials say the upcoming season aims to draw broad audiences while continuing to strengthen Rhode Island’s arts scene.
