The Coast Guard rescued two 15-year-old boys Saturday after their boat lost power in Harbor of Refuge, Rhode Island.
A commercial towing company called the watchstander at Coast Guard Station Point Judith reporting two teenagers had a disabled 21-foot recreational boat, and they were stranded on a nearby break wall.
A 45-foot response boat crew from the station launched. When the crew arrived on scene, the boat was unable to get close enough to the break wall to rescue the two boys. The crew deployed a surface swimmer who swam to the rocks and brought each boy to the rescue boat individually.
No injuries were reported. The boat crew brought the boys back safely to the station where they were reunited with their awaiting parents.
