Congressman Cicilline compares President Trump to the Netflix series “Stranger Things”

Congressman David Cicilline took to the floor of the House of Representatives on Thursday to compare President Trump to the fictional Netflix series Stranger Things.

“Like the main characters in Stranger Things, we are now stuck in the Upside-Down. Right is wrong, up is down, black is white.”

The congressman then ran through a series of events since Trump’s inauguration and in a maaaajjjooor strrrrrrrrrretch attempted to somehow tie them to the show. (Which is really good, by the way)

Anyway, when you’re from the most Democrat state in the country and you’re in the minority, sometimes you need to think outside the box to get your message heard. I don’t hate it.

“Mornings might be for coffee and contemplation, but Chief Jim Hopper is not coming to rescue us,” the congressman continued. “This is not a TV show. This is real life. We have a president unlike any we have ever known. And like Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Eleven, we must remain focused on the task at hand and hold this administration accountable so we can escape from our own version of the upside down.”

Wait, I have a comparison, remember Barb, the girl from Stranger Things that just disappeared and was never heard from again? She’s kind of like our political clout in the house ever since Patrick Kennedy retired.

Stranger Things season two is expected to premiere Halloween 2017.
