Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo announced Tuesday that as part of her budget proposal she has put together a Motor Vehicle Excise Tax relief plan for Rhode Island drivers.
“I have put forth a plan to cut the car tax by at least 30 percent, putting more than $50 million back in Rhode Islanders’ pockets. There is no tax more unfair or annoying than the car tax. Rhode Islanders want fairness and a level playing field. I look forward to working with the legislature to give every Rhode Islander the car tax relief they deserve,” said Raimondo in a statement.
