The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy in concert with John Chisholm from the Mass. Division of Marine Fisheries just ID’d a record 16 great white sharks off of Monomy on Thursday. This puts the number of sharks identified this season at somewhere near 40.
“Record day on the water yesterday off Monomoy (8/6/15)! John Chisholm of the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries ID’d 16 white sharks from the GoPro footage, we detected one tagged shark on the hydrophone that we didn’t get footage of (Finn) and 2 sharks were not filmed, bringing the total to 17-19 white sharks!”
