Mary Louise Perlingiero, age 85, of Middletown, RI, passed away on November 16, 2018. She was the loving wife of Harold Perlingiero for 65 years.
Mary was born in Long Beach, NY, the eldest child of Joseph Fleury and Jean (Hackett) Fleury. She attended Richmond Hill High School and after graduating worked as a bookkeeper. Her family summered on Aquidneck Island, where she met her husband. After her first daughter was born, she dedicated herself to being a homemaker while managing the family rental properties with her husband. She prided herself on being a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and her husband enjoyed taking the family camping in their RV and to country fairs like the Big E. She was an avid supporter of the Cluny School and the Boys and Girls Club.
Mary is survived by her husband, Harold; three daughters and their spouses, Jean and Bruce Cox, of Tiverton, Debbie Perlingiero and Paul Mongeau, of Middletown, and Kim and John Ceglarski, of Middletown; seven grandchildren, Courtney Cox of Boston, Christopher Cox of Bristol, Danielle and Lauren Mongeau of Middletown, and Emily, Katherine, and Allison Ceglarski also of Middletown; and great grand-daughter, Eilidh. She leaves her siblings Eliza Fleury Leadbeater, Jane McGovern, Thomas Fleury, and half-brother, John Hackett; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents and her brother, Joseph Fleury, preceded her in death.
Calling hours are Tuesday, November 20th from 9:00-10:30 AM at Hambly Funeral Home, 30 Red Cross Ave, Newport, with Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be private.
