More than 100 winemakers and dozens of award-winni More than 100 winemakers and dozens of award-winning chefs from around the world gathered on Nantucket from May 14–18 for the 27th annual @nantucketwineandfood Festival — an island tradition packed with pours, pairings, and people who know their Pinot.

From Chile and Lithuania to France, California, and back to New England, oenologists and culinary masters came to play. Guests sipped and snacked their way through oysters and wine, champagne and caviar, Opus One dinners, a St. Tropez Rosé brunch, and a stargazing cocktail party at Loines Observatory (@mariamitchellassociation).

We enjoyed lobster canapés with caviar, oysters with cherry blossom mignonette, spiced swordfish skewers, and Wagyu burgers grilled on-site. Chefs from Chatham Bars Inn, Prima Boston, Salt in Plymouth, and spots in NYC, Argentina & France filled out the menus with intl. culinary magic.

The Grand Tastings and Gala, held in a massive tent at @bartlettsfarm, brought it all together—a format fans of Newport’s past wine fests would recognize. Wine and food producers lined the tent as guests shuffled from one to another, glass in hand, sipping, nibbling, and learning.

At the center of it all: Nancy Bean. This year, she pulled off the event under pressure, having fought off a hostile takeover and reclaimed her role as owner/operator. “I didn’t give up,” she told Newport Buzz. “I put my battle gloves on”—and according to many, she scored a KO.

Among those rooting for her was Cushing Donelan of @donelanwine, a longtime participant.

“It was kind of strange when all the hoopla happened, but I was pleased with this year... Nancy delivered.”

“The beauty of the Nantucket W+F Fest is having a Nantucket scalloper next to a CEO, next to an entrepreneur who created the software we’re all using. Everyone I met was on a different part of their wine journey—but all were enthusiastic.”

“Drawing 4,000 attendees, Nantucket’s W+F Fest marks the awakening of our island for the new season,” Bean said. “We were beyond honored to host this iconic event. Cheers to another year of great wine, great food, and excellent company.”

Charming Waterfront Retreat Finds New Owner for $8 Charming Waterfront Retreat Finds New Owner for $840,000

A renovated coastal residence at 1886 Main Road in Tiverton, R.I., has changed hands for $840,000. The property was represented and sold by Connor Dowd of @thedowdteam.

Originally built in 1886, the home blends classic New England charm with modern updates. Recent renovations include a chef’s kitchen outfitted with contemporary finishes, newly refinished hardwood floors, updated bathrooms, and refreshed mechanicals. The living room centers around a traditional fireplace, offering a cozy anchor to the thoughtfully updated interior.

What truly sets the property apart, however, is its position across from the water, with sweeping westerly views over the Sakonnet River. The home offers direct water access across Main Road, making it a coveted location for those seeking both tranquility and connection to the outdoors. Sunset views are a daily spectacle, visible from multiple vantage points within the home.

Beyond its potential as a primary residence, the property had been marketed as a compelling summer retreat or investment opportunity. The house is move-in ready, with recent exterior improvements that include a new roof, gutters, windows, and fresh paint.

The sale underscores continued buyer interest in Tiverton’s coastal corridor, where waterfront access and village charm remain in high demand.
