The name of your choice will be permanently inscribed on a brass nameplate and affixed to one of our plush new theater seats.
The restored Opera House Theater and Performing Arts Center will be the vibrant year round main stage for exciting live performances – theater, dance, all genres of music, comedy, family programming and much more. Just imagine the possibilities on our stage and the excitement this restored cultural asset will bring to our year round economy and community!
Be a part of the Opera House future, while “Taking your seat in Newport history!” The new Opera House seats are hand-crafted and feature plush cushions, rich upholstery, wood backs, scrolled armrests and replicas of the original cast-iron end standards. The restored Opera House Theater will have a grand total of 700 seats. You can choose to have your name on a seat in the premier orchestra and balcony sections for $2,500, the balcony for $1500 and the orchestra level for $1000. And remember, every dollar raised through the Theater Seat Campaign, helps match the $4.2 million State Cultural Facilities Grant for the Opera House restoration. Your tax-deductible contribution will be a lasting tribute to your support of the Newport Opera House Theater and Performing Arts Center.
All contributions will be used to restore the Opera House Theater and to set the stage to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the original opening of the Opera House Theater in 1867.
