RIP Cornelius E. “Connie” Baillargeron

Cornelius E. “Connie” Baillargeron, 67, of Newport, RI, died Sunday, April 30, 2017 at home in Newport surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Baillargeron was born June 22, 1949 in Haver, MT.

She is the daughter of the late Edward and the late Betsy (Rose) Niemi.

She was married to James Randolph Baillargeron for 49 years. .

Connie loved country music, and line dancing. She volunteered at the Martin Luther King Center in Newport, for many years. She loved spending time with her family, and adored all of her grandchildren. She was very spiritual, and very strong in her faith in God.

She is survived by her husband: James Randolph Baillargeron, three daughters: Jennifer Carina Field and her husband Colby of Newport, Moriah Ann Bowen and her husband Jerry of Portsmouth, Sarah Elaine Baillargeron, and two sons: James P. Baillargeron and Jesse David Baillargeron. She is also survived by two sisters, Rita Saylor and Luree Mercer, one brother, Steve Niemi, and two grandchildren, Amelia Rose Baillargeron, and Mari Apolline Field.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017, from 10:30-11 a.m. in Cross Point Church, 14 Rhode Island Avenue in Newport. Her funeral service will be held immediately after at 11 a.m. in the church.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in her name, to the Martin Luther King Center, 20 Dr. Marcus Wheaton Boulevard, Newport, RI 02840.
