Newport to Providence ferry service to kick off on July 1st

The Newport-Providence ferry is scheduled to begin on July 1st according to Department of Transportation Director Peter Alviti Jr.

Seastreak LLC, a New Jersey based company, will run the ferry service between Perotti Park in Newport and the former Shooters nightclub site on India Point in Providence.

The cost of each trip is $10 for adults ($5 for seniors, children and disabled riders) and will run from July 1 though September 5.
