Explore the underground tunnel, boiler room and basement of The Breakers starting January 28th.
Descend the staircase from the caretaker’s cottage to the vast underground boiler room, and see the massive boilers that helped to power this great house.
Walk through the hidden underground tunnel and enter the basement, where you’ll get a close up look at the cutting edge construction techniques, electrical and plumbing systems of more than a century ago, and their modern counterparts.
Guided tours will be offered every 30 minutes, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tour space is limited and advance reservations required.
