President Joe Biden blasted states like Texas and Mississippi on Wednesday for their plan to lift COVID restrictions, saying such a move is a “big mistake” and “Neanderthal thinking.”
“I hope everybody’s realized by now these masks make a difference,” he added. “We are on the cusp of being able to fundamentally change the nature of this disease because of the way we’re able to get vaccines in people’s arms.”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott said Tuesday that he was lifting the state’s face mask mandate and would allow businesses to fully reopen 100% on March 10th. Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves announced similar moves.
