Celebrate the Fourth at Fort Adams: The Ravers, Games, and Fireworks to Light Up Newport

Celebrate Independence Day in classic Rhode Island style at Fort Adams, where music, games, and fireworks will take over the historic site on Friday, July 4, 2025.

Hosted by Fort Adams Trust, the free community event offers an evening of live entertainment and family-friendly activities—all with a scenic view of Newport Harbor.

“This event brings the community together in a one-of-a-kind setting with history, music, and fun for all ages,” said Paul Marshall of Fort Adams Trust.

Gates open at 6 p.m., and local reggae band The Ravers will perform from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The lawn will be filled with games, bouncy houses, and open space for kids and families to enjoy. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs.

The night wraps up with Newport’s annual fireworks display over the harbor, beginning at 9:15 p.m.

Admission is free, but capacity is limited. Organizers recommend registering early to secure a spot.
