Ravelin Films from Ferndale Michigan has begun working at Fort Adams to produce a documentary on the history of the fort. Led by Ryan Betzler and Will Eichel, Ravelin Films with assistance of world renowned expert on masonry coastal defenses, John Weaver, will be filming, researching and interviewing with a July 2017 target release of the documentary. The film crew was on location at Fort Adams May 30th through Friday, June 4th .
“We are very excited about the crew coming in to produce the documentary, “stated Joe Dias, executive director for Fort Adams. “Their knowledge of the period when Fort Adams was built and their film production experience is unparalleled. When all is done, we will have a comprehensive history of the fort that we would never have had the resources to produce ourselves,” he added.
“This is a rare opportunity to reveal all that went into building Fort Adams, how it functioned and its role in American history,” expressed Will Eichler, co-owner of Ravelin Films. “Having just completed a documentary on Fort Wayne in Indiana, beginning on a documentary on Fort Adams is a natural continuation of our desire to reveal the history of third system forts built between 1816 and 1867,” he added.
Ravelin was filming through the week of May 30th with a return visit in the spring of 2017 for finalization of the documentary.
