One of the greatest honors in my life is to have served the citizens of Newport as Mayor and as a City Councilman.
Newport has been home my entire life and I have seen many changes over the years. What I see for the future is positive growth and increased employment opportunities. When elected, I promise responsible, open and participative leadership because I’m with you.
I want to give back to this amazing community that has given so much to my family and me.
I’m with you and I have a plan to take Newport into the 21st century to help us grow and thrive as a city.
Newport needs leaders who have the vision to get the City of Newport on track to make us a 12-month city, with quality, high paying jobs and an infrastructure that will allow us to compete to bring tech and green jobs to our city. For far too long, our children have had to leave Newport to find good jobs and I intend to help change that because I’m with you.
I intend to secure the funding for the re-alignment of the Newport Pell Bridge ramps, which is the first step in the redevelopment of Newport’s North End. We must also acquire the Newport Naval Hospital property and work closely with residents, developers and neighbors regarding the development of this property.
We must finish the Small Business Incubation Center at Sheffield School and begin moving businesses in asap. I will work to update Newport’s strategic plan which hasn’t been updated since 2013 and I believe that we should relocate the Visitors Center to the North End and work with residents, developers and neighbors for a better re-use of that property.
Over the years we have accomplished much, but we still have work to do to help Newport reach its full potential and I will work tirelessly towards these goals because I’m with you.
I’m asking for your trust and for your vote on November 8th.
Sincerely,
Harry
