Irish singer Hozier, the 2015 Newport Folk Festival headliner, won the BBC Music Awards’ song of the year for “Take Me To Church” – the show’s only public vote.

Bruno Mars (Uptown Funk), OMI (Cheerleader – Felix Jaehn Remix), The Weeknd (Can’t Feel My Face) and Wiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth (See You Again) were also nominated.
