To open the day, (2) Ivo Karlovic (CRO) downed Denis Kudla (USA) 6-4, 6-4; Tobias Kamke (GER) upset (3) Adrian Mannarino 7-65, 7-5; (1) John Isner (USA) eliminated Sam Groth (AUS) 6-2, 6-4; Bjorn Fratangelo (USA) bested Akira Santillan (AUS) 7-6, 3-6, 6-1; Peter Gojowczyk (GER) outlasted Konstatin Kravchuk (RUS) 2-6, 6-4, 6-4; (Q) Matthew Ebden (AUS) upset (6) Lukas Lacko (SVK) 6-1, 7-62; (4) Pierre-Hugues Herbert (FRA) held on to beat Adrian Menendez-Maceiras 7-5, 2-6, 6-3; Dennis Novikov topped (Q) Frank Dancevic 6-3, 6-2

In doubles, Matt Reid (AUS)/John-Patrick Smith (AUS) squeezed by Cheng-Peng Hsieh (TPE)/Hsien-Yin Peng (TPE) 4-6, 6-4, 22-20 and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi (PAK)/Rajeev Ram (USA) (1) defeated Adrian Menendez-Maceiras (ESP)/Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela (MEX) 6-2, 6-1.
