A 20-year-old Portsmouth man killed in a Tuesday evening car crash has been identified as Raymond Oliver, a 2014 graduate of Portsmouth High School. Mr Oliver was killed when his car struck a tree on Turnpike Avenue just after 6:30pm Tuesday night.
Portsmouth Police say that Oliver was traveling south on Turnpike Avenue when he crossed the center line and crashed into a tree on the opposite side of the road.
The Portsmouth Fire Department used the jaws of life to remove Oliver from the car and performed CPR before transporting him to St. Anne’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
