The Preservation Society of Newport County’s Summer Lecture Series “Great Houses” continues this Wednesday, July 19th – 6pm at Rosecliff with Kate Markert, Executive Director, Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens.

Marjorie Merriweather Post & the Treasures of Hillwood

Marjorie Merriweather Post lived a Gilded Age lifestyle well into the 20th century, traveling between her Washington D.C. estate Hillwood, where she spent spring and fall, Camp Topridge, her summer retreat in the Adirondacks, and Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach property she built and where she spent the winter season. She inherited her father’s company, Post Cereal, in 1914 when she was 27 years old. Learn more about this fascinating, independent woman, take a virtual tour through Hillwood, and get a peek into her unparalleled collection of historic and 20th century jewelry

Reception to follow.
