Newport’s P.H. Horgan III sits one shot behind leader Tom Watson, after shooting a three-under 67 in the opening round of the U.S. Senior Open at Del Paso Country Club in Sacremento, CA.
A former stand out athlete at Rogers High School and scholarship football player at the University of Rhode Island, the 54-year-old Horgan, who splits his time between Newport and West Palm Beach, had 13 top 10 finishes in 276 PGA Tour starts over seven seasons.
